Veterans With Disabilities

Every day, veterans are suffering from the effects of disabilities.

Veterans with disabilities can face barriers to living a normal life. Many veterans are now facing a difficult time attaining jobs, and veterans with disabilities are even less likely to be able to make a living. Post-9/11 military veterans in Wisconsin face employment of around 9.5 percent. However, veterans with disabilities face an unemployment rate of around 12 percent, well above the average of non-disabled veterans. Similarly, in other states, disabled veterans are likely to face the same sort of discrepancy. Lack of employment leads to serious problems in the lives of vets, yet people who risked their lives for America’s safety shouldn’t be forced to live their life in the shadows.
